Satellite Radio Modem for Use in a Small Drone
Before initiating a possible award procedure, DLR conducts a non-binding market investigation in accordance with Section 20 (1) of the German Regulation for Procurement below the Threshold (Unterschwellenvergabeordnung – UvgO) in order to prepare for the award of a contract and to inform the companies about their plans for awarding the contract and the requirements for the contract DLR is preparing the procurement of a satellite radio modem that is intended for installation in a small drone (< 6 kg maximum take-off mass, MTOM).

DLR, together with other consortium partners of the Labyrinth project (http://labyrinth2020.eu), has been commissioned by the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) of the EU under a grant agreement, with the development and testing of a U-space Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) system.
For this project, DLR needs a satellite radio (one piece) modem that is intended for installation in a small drone (< 6 kg maximum take-off mass, MTOM). For more detailed information, please consult the document referended under No I.3) of this publication.
Procurement is planned to be carried out by way of a negotiated award without a competitive bidding process (Verhandlungsvergabe ohne Teilnahmewettbewerb) in accordance with Section 8 (4) No 6 of the German Regulation for Procurement below the Threshold (Unterschwellenvergabeordnung – UvgO).
